About me

May 6th, 2009

I have always had an interest in holistic treatments and treating the body naturally.  After years of providing massage to friends and family and then the births of my children I decided to train formally.   In April 2008 I completed courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Holistic facials and Swedish massage.  I began working as a mobile therapist for individuals, companies and events.  I provided massage at Leeds Festival 2008 and 2009 to artists and guests and have worked for several artists on tour.  I have since trained in Hopi Ear Candling and Indian Head Massage.  I am a member of BABTAC.  I also work as a breastfeeding support worker and am trained by the NCT and UNICEF.

In March 2009 I fulfilled a dream of mine and trained with Nurturing Birth to become a Birth Doula and Post natal doula.

My skills as an Holistic Therapist come together with this role enabling me to provide care to women during pregnancy, birth and post natally.  I have three children and have the experience, knowledge and empathy to be able to understand and support women through this very special time.

I believe in empowering women to achieve the births they desire, in providing a nurturing presence, support, encouragement and reassurance.

I volunteer for a national childrens charity called Homestart supporting families with children under 5.  For more information please visit http://www.home-start.org.uk and I work for Sheffield City Council as an Antenatal and Breastfeeding support advisor.
